    Angry Help required

    HELP... Last post i said i was getting a new 512 stick to put in m/c . I cheacked all the clock time's when i was buying it, but when it has turned up and i've put it in, the clock times are differant. Here are the cl No:-
    DIMM1: GeIL CL 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (2.5-3-3-6 @ 200 MHz) (2.0-3-3-5 @ 166 MHz)
    DIMM2: Kingston K 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz) (2.5-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz) (2.0-2-2-6 @ 133 MHz)
    DIMM3: Micron Tech. 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz) (2.5-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz) (2.0-2-2-6 @ 133 MHz)
    I have a big feeling that i've messed up !! Cause when i used a benchmark tester it was only showing these as PC2100 HELP PLEASE

    in the bios, set all the ram timings to the one with the highest numbers, so you want to set it to the kingston or the microtech settings. that way there will be no confusion, and the auto thingy will (theoreticlly) run the ram at full speed.

    Just to make sure, run memtest86+ (link in my sig). There is indeed a good chance that you just have problems with having so many mismatched DIMMs.

    Right good advice but which one do ya download and how safe is this memtest86+ and wot do ya do.

    how safe is this memtest86+
    Very. It has been out for years and I have yet to hear negative reviews of the utility from a reputable source

    and wot do ya do
    There are instructions included on the Memtest website. Unless the utility has been changed up since the last time I used it, these instructions include using a boot disk as it is a DOS based application (not a DOS window but a DOS environment, hence the boot disk)

    Thank's all but i've now just got myself 2 x 1gb CORSAIR PC3200 XMS3200 PLATINUM matched pair . Could not be bothered with any more hastle.

    Next thing for help will be how do you put these into Duel channel mode ? Thank's all

    What motherboard do you have? Does it have dual channel abilities?

    Ah... s754 doesn't support dual channel at all.
