Default Question on which is better and which to get

Hi, I'm getting some new Ram and have noticed these 2 sets.

Now they are different Cas and different speeds.

Now I know nothing about Ram but from what little I think I understand the better Cas is lower i.e 3 as opposed to 5

So if I understand it correctly here's my problem:

    Cas 5 sticks at DDR2 800MHz (PC2-6400)
    or
    Cas 3 sticks at DDR2 667MHz (PC2-5400)

    Here are the full titles:

    G.Skill 2GB DDR2 GA PC2-5400 (2x1GB) CAS3 Dual Channel Kit (F2-5400CL3D-2GBGA) (MY-015-GS)

    G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NR PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBNR) (MY-014-GS)

Both of them are exactly the same price.

So which is the set to buy?

Higher Cas but with faster speed or Lower Cas with slower speed.

They will be sitting in a new Core 2 Duo set up.

    Many Thanks

Depends on how much overclocking you're planning on doing. If you have no plans on overclocking, the PC2-5400 is the way to go. If you plan on overclocking the obviously you want higher speed rated ram. Don't listen to anyone that says the PC2-5400 will overclock just as high with relaxed timings. There is no guarantee it will and you could be seriously limited if you are looking for 3GHz+.

Thanks Mate - no plans here to Overclock so I'll go with the PC2-5400.

    Thanks again.
