    Default matched memory pair

Hi folks, after installing these two sticks with 1024mb of ram each, my system is telling me that I have 1 gb of ram installed. Does it mean that one of the stick is dead and not being recognize by my pc?

And also during the booting process, my pc tells me that the memory frequency is on the single channel mode. Do I need to change it to dual channel mode since I'm using dual channel matched memory pair? I tried to change it by going to the bios but there was no option if you want to change it.

    Any help will be appreciated.

If it only shows 1024MB on bootup, then you have a problem with one of the memory modules. Swap each of them in and out to see which one is faulty.

Remember, dual channel is only activated if TWO modules are working and placed in the same channel .i.e same color slots, although their capacities DONT necessarily ahve to be the same ---only works on INTEL chipsets [FLEX memory technology]
