    Default DDR3 1600 on a P43

    I have a Asus P5P43TD Deluxe
That is supposed to support 1600mhz ddr3
though if you read the small print only in single channel

Anyway with a slight bump of the north bridge
i was able to get it stable at 1600mhz on the ram
in duel channel and and went to bed the other night
with it at 6-8-7-18 and it passed 9 or 10 loops
    so the ram is fine

Anyway at 1600 on the ram it fails prime
if i drop the ram down to 1200 it trucks along all day
    with prime

anyone have any tip's for getting a p43 stable with this speed ram plz

Oh i forgot to say with the north bridge at 1.1v default it fails memtest within a few mins
    at ddr3 1600

Im running it through a few memtest loops again now
    just to make sure

I have made a few more changes to the memory
    which seem memtest stable

    6-8-7-18-5-88-10-5
    8-5-6-4-7-4-7
    21-6-1-8-8

Ai Transation Booster set to manual

Level 6 (gets around an extra 300meg a sec ram read)
Pull-In of CHA (unsure what this does) I set them to enabled

I have set the cpu to 401x6 = 2.4ghz to rule out the overclock
    Still failing prime

Just updating incase anyone else runs into this problem

AI overclock tuner has to be set to X.M.P. for the 1600mhz ram to be prime stable

The only problem with this though is you loose fsb support so its locked at 400fsb

In my case its fine as i was looking to go 400x8

If you choose Manual and set everything identical to the X.M.P. settings
    it fails prime

    Asus boards suck

I have tried setting the ram 1.65 and North Bridge to the highest 1.25 etc
    it still fails prime promptly

I Suspect Its changing something im missing or pumping more into the north bridge than i can select in manual
