Default Insight Needed for RAM upgrade issue.

Hello everyone, I have a bit of an issue with a RAM upgrade im attempting.I currently have 8GB DDr2 in my GA-MA785GM-US2H mobo, Am looking to install 16 GB using Micron four 4GB dual sided (2RX8) modules,Model#MT-16HT51264HZ-800C1. My issue begins when I try to boot after installing the four Micron modules,my PC wont post, but the lights and fans are running, while screen remains blank. I reset C-MOS using the jumper method as well as taking out the battery on the next attempt and still no go for each method. But I found that I can only use 1 or 2 of the Micron modules at a time and I have tested all four individualy to see if there was a faulty board and no problems occur there it seems. Any help here or advice would be greatly appreciated. AMD phenom II processor 3.4ghz ATI radeon HD5700 series Graphic card, 650W PSU Win7 64

    Welcome to the forum.

I'm not familiar with AMD systems but I know where to look for needed information.

The most important information is in red text.

Crucial memory finder does not list your motherboard.
Have you contacted Crucial tech support to see if they have any recommendations?

    website info:
    • 4 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory (Note 1)
    • Dual channel memory architecture
    • Support for DDR2 1200 (OC)/1066(Note2)/800/667 MHz memory modules

(Note 1) Due to Windows Vista/XP 32-bit operating system limitation, when more than 4 GB of physical memory is installed, the actual memory size displayed will be less than 4 GB.
(Note 2) Whether 1066 MHz or above memory speed is supported depends on the CPU being used.

    user manual info: Product Specifications
    Memory:
    • 4 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory (Note 1)
    • Dual channel memory architecture
    • Support for DDR2 1200(O.C.)/1066 (Note 2)/800 MHz memory modules --(Go to GIGABYTE's website for the latest memory support list.)

notes for user manual memory product specifications.

    1. Only for GA-MA785GPM-UD2H.
    2. Only for GA-MA785GM-UD2H.

    CPU Support List:
    Phenom II X4 965, stepping C3, 125 watts - requires the F5 bios.
    Phenom II X4 965, stepping C2, 140 watts - not supported.

The Gigabyte Memory QVL only lists two different 4GB memory models, but I have found that the memory manufacturers' memory compatibility list almost always has a more extensive list.

Increasing some bios voltages might help.

Thank you ProfJim for taking the time to reply to me and with great advice! However, I did try turning the RAM voltages up in BIOS,but it didnt work out and I ended up sending the RAM boards back to the seller for a refund.I will be trying a better brand that is listed under motherboard memory support list. The modules were cheap to purchase and I gave them a go,nothing ventured nothing gained.
