My most recent mod: LED friction fit into acrylic window.

I was getting tired of looking at the ugly pre-fab fan cutout in my case.

I used a dremmel with a cutting disk for the initial rough cut, then a very fine hand held file for the finishing touches.

The cutout for the fan is so precise, that the fan is tightly held in place by friction.

It is just a square hole, exactly the size of the fan. Nothing holding it there but friction.

My digital camera is pretty crappy, so I have to apologize for the image quality.

The whole idea behind this was to get the fan flush mouned with the window, with the hole cut so precicely that it looked like the fan was almost a part of the window, instead of being bolted behind.

The only thing the screws in the pic are doing are holding the fangrill onto the fan.

It can take anyting but a delibrate attempt to knock it out - the fit is extremely tight. It can be pushed on quite hard without budging.
