  • Is This A Good Soyo Board

    hello,

i wanted to know if this board:

Soyo Dragon Ultra Platinum Edition VIA KT333 Socket A ATX MB

    SY-KT333DUPE-N

This Socket A motherboard supports AMD Athlon XP processors up to 2600+, AMD Athlon XP Palomino processors up to 2100+, AMD Athlon processors up to 1.4 GHz and AMD Duron processors up to 1.3 GHz. With support for up to 3 GB RAM, UDMA/133 data transfers and built-in RAID functionality, this is one

i want to over clock at sometime.

is this a good board to over clock w/ ease???????

    thanks,

From what I've read in other forums, the Soyo's just don't OC that well. They OC moderately, but not extreme. For that look at Abit or Epox, maybe Asus. That and Soyo tends to be fairly pricey for what they offer. You can get just as good of board, if not better, for the same, and usually less. The chipset isn't as new either, so for stock performance, you're loosing out. Unless you really really have to have the platinum PCB, I can't really see why you'd wanna get that board.

Its gonna be better than that K7S5A, so $67 shipped is a good price for new, used, or refurbished. As long as it works as good as new.
Electronics either work or they don't. As long as nothing is wrong with the board, it is just like NEW. They don't wear out.....
You can't tell if a transistor has been used 1000 years or 1 day, as long as it works it will be fine.

No. They're outta stock atm, and in the features/specs portion they're saying it uses the KT400 chipset---which it doesn't.

Newegg has it available right now for $79 with free shipping. It's refurb, but I've always had great experiences with Newegg. Link: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...tby=14&order=1
