  • Best fan positioning for my new case?

I just brought a new case, because I am making a new computer.

I can have 1 case fan at the front
2 case fans at the back.
I also have the PSU at the back.

I have already put a fan at the front. it is positioned at the very bottom of the case. and that is sucking in air (intake)

at the rear I have the PSU at the very top sucking out air (exhaust) and one case fan below it doing the same thing.

so I still have room for one more case fan. the spot for it on my case is below the case fan which is below the PSU.

So what should I do with this spare spot I have? put an intake or exhaust fan?

I'd leave that other back position empty and add a side AGP/PCI intake fan to balance the airflow in the case out.

Yes, dont put an exhaust there because that would severely lop-side your case air flow (ideally it's supposed to be about 5cfm more in than out). But out a hole in the side panel right next to your graphics card so that it can bring in cool air over it (so you can overclock it higher ) and to balance the air in/out in your case. Read this thread for info on how to go about it. Happy modding, : peace2: Mista K6

I don't really want to be drilling holes in the side of my case. so with what I currently have. what do you recommend?

ok well the PSU sucks hot air out.

should I even just change around the fan placment in my case.

so I will have 1 fan at the front bottom sucking air in.
and now I have 2 case fan slots at the back of the case.

what should these 2 be doing?

Well, if you dont want to drill a hole in your case (it's very safe and can give you great results both performance wise and asethetically, as many around here can tell you), then leave the 1 fan in the front on intake and on in the back on exhaust and your PSU will exhaust too. That's the best configuration for your current situation. : peace2: Mista K6
