  • print screen to jpeg?

I don't use photo editors and image. what program can i use to transform my print screens into jpeg images so i can show you my system specs? I'd also like to get into image editing. i don't know how you create those flashy system specs gifs at the bottom of your posts? Please show us how?

I've gone into detail in several threads about how to take and save screenshots. I really don't have the energy to do it again right now so do a little search and I'm sure you will find them.

First step for screen capture -

      - Select the window you want to capture
      - Press Alt + Print Screen
      - Open Paint
      - Paste
      - Save

      :)

              Hammer and nails maybe? :?:

I prefer to use Ctrl + V myself instead of paste and then Save As.

I wouldn't use a jpeg for a screen shot, unless it contains like some kind of photo-like qualities.

Jpeg is used because its 10x smaller than .bmp...

I don't like the way Paint saves jpegs though, it messes with the quality of the picture.

True. It seems to mangle the picture more than most graphic apps do. But if you haven't got any other apps, then it's the only real way to do it.

prefer png personally, but jpg works just fine when size really matters. sepherum2ya, what would you normally use, gif??

as for paint, can't stand it...
Gimp works much better for my needs :)

That depends on what software your using to save it in.
With MS paint the quality gets lowered dramaticly if saved as gif.
To the point it's irritating to look at even with non important crap pics.

You get this small white dots clottered all over.. Just look at this shot compressed as gif with MS paint.

Btw, can anyone skilled explain to me why paint compress gif pictures to be more than twize the size as the same shot compressed in jpg..:?:
How can it be so much bigger and still got less colors..
