  • Computer freezing

While playing games for long periods of time my computer will suddenly freeze. The screen becomes all disorted with pixels splashed everywhere. This happens about an hour or so after I begin playing which is strange.
    Processor: Intel 4 2.0ghz
    Videocard: ATI Radeon 9800
    DirectX 9+
    Motherboard: ECS 648FX-A

I have tried updating my VGA driver and my Graphics card driver but both haven't worked. Also tried some things ATI suggested in my CMOS settings but they did not help either. If any could shed some light on this I would be most gracious. :?:

    Thanks

I don't know, but, it sounds like your Radeon is choking from too much heat. Have you installed a Temp/fan monitor to check the heat before/during/after a major gaming session? You might wanna install a side case fan over the Graphix card if you don't already have one. If you keep checking back though i'm sure somebody with a Radeon will set you right.
Happiness isn't something you experience; it's something you recall.

Bah, wouldnt you know they would take the pic away. Anyway, I positioned the fan on the side of the case down on the back near the card as you guys suggested and also went out and bought another fan and put it back up on the side of the case so now I have 3 fans runnin. So far I havent crashed since. Hope this doesnt jinx it.

            Thanks!
