  • Problems cooling my PC

I recently change the heatsink on my cpu and videocard to make it more silent but now the temperatures on my case are lower than the cpu.
    CPU idle 34, case 30.
and when I run a stress test or a game the temperatures are:
    CPU 45 to 50, case 35
    I have a P4 2.8GHz I don't overclock, and the heatsink I have is the swiftech for P4.

Your case temps are spose to be lower than that of the CPU.

but aren't those temps in the cpu to high? I just reach 52 in my last stress test

Your P4 will start to throttle itself down if the temp hits 70C or so.

so the temps are not that bad?

I wouldn't worry untill you start exceeding 60C.

A quick test you can perform on your machine is to remove the side panel. If your processor temperatures go down by around 5C or more, you have a problem with case airflow. Correcting this will lower both system and processor temperatures at all load ranges.

Also, ambient room temperatures must be considered in the equation as well. The cooling will only work as well as the surrounding air allows it to. :)
