Anyone care to venture a guess at how much the cards will drop buy when the x800's come out?

Here (australia) the 9800 pro is about $420-$480 and the 9800 xt is about $640

Your guess is as good as anyone else's. Significantly less than they are now, for sure.

Are those cards really that much in Australia? A 9800 Pro can be purchased for as as low as $210 here. We are bound to have lower prices, but not that much lower...

Yeah they are that much here...

However if you consider the exchange rate, then it would cost about -$100 less in us dollars, so we pay about 100 more than you guys... oh well

Know a guy in Australia that used to do day trading, but he keeps up on that kinda junk. Currently the exchange rate is at something like every one of our dollars is worth about 73 or 74 cents of Australian currency. (Could be wrong on this; correct me if I am) Used to be 2-1 in favor of US - hope the economy keeps heading up soon; I can't afford a trip to Australia otherwise.

Here in Australia they won't be around that long as we don't carry anywhere near the stocks that Nth. America carries plus when new versions come out there isn't much price movement on old stock.

i dont see why you would wait that long since the x800's successors would have been out by then...
