  • What does artifact mean?

Srry, I did a search and only 2 came up n neither helped. I know it's a problem the V/C gives you when there is some sort of heat issue.

Not really a heat issue, but a problem in the graphical quality when you overclock too far for the hardware to keep up. What happens is that the picture actually starts breaking down. As a general rule (and yes, there are exceptions but this will guide you) when you overclock the memory too far you start getting white specs (sometimes much larger, but specs all the same) covering the display. If just a little too aggressive you might just see them around the edges of some of the textures, but if you keep cranking up the memory speed you'll see them throughout the display.

The other artifacts you'll likely come across are the one from overclocking the GPU/VPU too much. This will usually be large bars of distortion that run across the display. This is also called "tearing" and if you see it you'll understand why. It almost looks like someone took a knife and cut the display into ribbons and then couldn't get them lined back up right on the screen.

Ok... I know what ur talking bout the tearing s I witness that myself recently. Now, I never saw the white specs or specs in general. Ok...In FarCry, sometimes, and I dont know exactly what I did but here goes, you see like lines in the water. It's as if electricity zapping thru it as you move. The lines doesn't move though when you are standing still. This is common when I start changing the advanced settings. If you like restart a couple of times, it just works normally. I say it's common because it also happens to my friend's computer. Is the electricity thing an artifact, or a glitch in the game?
