  • Dual Monitor Help

I have the NVIDIA GeForce Ti 4200 installed and it is not the version with the DVI output as well. It only has the single VGA. I also have a Microstar motherboard with built in VGA and I am trying to set up dual monitor between the two outputs. Everytime I boot up with the 4200 in, it does not notice the built in motherboard video driver. Is there any way to get the 4200 not to override the motherboard or is this not possible. (I went into BIOS and the only primary video device settings are AGP and PCI)

    Re: Dual Monitor Help

It will not work... Once you plug in a AGP card your onboard video is diabled automaticly.

The only way to do this is get a card with two video outs, or get two cards.

Although I would suggest giving your card the boot and getting a better one with two video outs, I say this because I have had problems with dual monitors running off of two cards. There is an older thread "Dual Monitors?" you should take a look at.

It is in the Audio/Video forum

well i got a PCI card and it works...only problem is it is old and i guess the driver that windows found sucks and cannto support resolutions over 800x600 and 16 bit color. I dont want that so now i am searching for a new one. If anyone gets bored and wants to help cause i am not finding anything. It is an ATI Mach64 CT running under XP.
