Windows XP SP 2 Fatal Error Upon Installation

I'm trying to install OS on friends comp I just built for him, it is XP PRO SP2 and after about 40 minutes it has a fatal error and doesn't finish installing. I think I need to flash the bios, but I'm not certain. Please advise. System Specs are as follows:
K7N2 Delta2-LSR Motherboard
2400+ barton mobile 45 watt
PC3500 Kingmax Ram (256x2)
40GB 8mb buffer WD IDE harddrive

Also, please provide me w/ a link to the download of the driver from the MSI website because I cannot find the correct file for the motherboard, all help is greatly appreciated.

Okay, I know what caused the problem. I had plugged the mouse in during Windows setup and for some reason it gave fatal error so I had it start over, then it gave another fatal error along the same time I had plugged the mouse in previously. Then, I posted asking for help, and I decided to try setup again to see what the fatal error said exactly and it never happened, up and running fine now.
