Pause or The HOME key, but only certain boards will let you do this.

What do you need to see?

I like to see the BIOS version so I know it wasn't changed.

I was only kidding about the BIOS. Anyway, I can't use CPU-Z because I haven't installed Vista yet. I just wanted to know how to pause Post screen for use in the future.

By the way, I know in another thread you thought I installed DES, but I have the EX38-DS4 board and DES is in here by default. I hope your instructions are for EX38-DS4 and they are not dependent on model of board.

No it is not. You will choose to install the software or not. Yes the hardware is there but it will not function (Other then the phase LED's at startup) without the software installed

              Yeah EX38 and X38 = same thing

Son-of-a-gun, and I thought DES would be there without Easy Tune Pro. So, I would have to install Easy Tune Pro software? Does it give me that DES when I control the fans via FanMate as opposed to using Easy Tune?

Do you have any reason to give for not using Easy Tune?

Re: How do you pause the Post screen?

It can be, EasyTune and the DES software are two different applications

You do not need Easytune for anything at all, if you want to make changes do them in the BIOS. You could use easytune as a monitor for temps, but there is much better software. And for overclocking, always best done in BIOS.....So that leaves no reason to use Easytune at all

All that DES does is save energy? If that's the case, I don't need it.

One more question, should I have Virtualization Technology Disabled or Enabled? I am quite confused with this item. I will be running Vista 64-bit Ultimate but only one OS. The information on Intel's site is a bit confusing since it states useful for Home Users and some other stuff. I am not sure what to do with this setting.

Yeap, that is it. Here is the full readup on it >>>
-- GIGABYTE -- Ultra Durable 2 / Dynamic Energy Saver Motherboards

If you do not use virtual machines such as Vmware or Virtual PC then you can disable it. It is used for people who want to run a 64bit system within a 32bit system or visa versa such as this >>>>
