  • 4x2GB memory that "definitely" works with GA-X48-DQ6?

    Hello,

I've been trying and trying to get my system to work with my 8GB of Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C4. My system can't boot with these sticks with my X48-DQ6 and I'm now looking for new sticks. Of course, I don't like the idea of spending money again on something that won't work, so I'm looking for some memory that won't give me these problems. The official gigabyte supported ram list doesn't even seem to list any setup with 8GB which I think is a bit of a joke seeing as they claim they support 8GB. Anyway, advices are highly appreciated.

I dont have same board but i do use 4x2gigs of ram on GA-X48-DS4 and it is Mushkin XPS2-8500 and i use it at 900 so i get 1:1 with CPU overclock [email protected]s like Mushkin is the best ram for Gigabyte boards.I also switched from Corsair XMS2 DHX c4ram there was nothing wrong with ram but my system runs stabel at overclock speeds with new memory.Corsair was very loose timming to get same system proformance i get now i would also get lock ups/restarts for no reason with old memory.GL you will also need some other changes in BIOS to get all 4 slots to run im sure some i with same board will be able to help with that.

Yes, I would suggest Mushkin for 8GB

And as stated you will have to do some tweaking for 8GB, but I am sure you know that already.

I now have 8GB of Mushkin memory and it's all running fine. Thanks for the advice. Just a pity I had to learn about it the expensive way. I think it's quite bad of Gigabyte to not have a more updated list of supported memories when they claim to support 8GB of RAM though. It shouldn't have to be this way.

Ya, Updated QVL would be nice, but it would always be changing so I doubt it could ever be kept current.

So you all up and running smooth then eh? Great if so!
