            Re: Ga-EP45-DS3R E8400

            thanks, but:

            let me get this straight..

            FIRST

change (G) MCH to 400 -- Reboot -voltages and static thread - reboot - everything rest with tWTR=12 and tWR=14 - rebot - set tWTR and tWR lower - reboot ??

by the way, memory multipler witch a have, has only D letter (in F10 bios, earlier i,v had all letters).. so.. i don't know

i believe that high mhz in ram is better than timings, so it would be fine if you give me these tabels (settings, is it in the cpu-z in memory options ?? (spd))

the multi letter is D cause the MCH LATCH is 400, it's ok that u have only D, but if u set MCH to auto u will have all letters, for 333 i think B&C and so on, so u dont have to worry about them.

                Re: Ga-EP45-DS3R E8400

Voltages and static tRead high and MCH and reboot. And then yes you can use lower twr/twtr after you get booted thru with everything. And you may not need a high twtr/twr I just suggested that incase you run into issues. Main things with MCH latch is you need a high enough tRD (Static tRead), and proper voltages of course, and to change as little as possible when you switch the MCH latch. You may be able to do it all at once, just wrote it for you that way incase you have issues.

Memory Multi Letter depends on the MCH Latch you are using, your old board had Auto set for that which allowed you to choose by number/letter. Auto on your board now will do the same if you put MCH on Auto, but best to set it manually. Here is a Table with all the Multi/strap letters/symbols shown I posted for someone else >>>

That page has Symbols used instead of letters, so here is the letters for each Strap as well incase that confused you
                200/800 Strap = C
                266/1066 Strap = A
                333/1333 Strap = B
                400/1600 Strap = D

Well, What I mean for higher ram speed would be a lower CPU multi so you can use a higher FSB and this have a faster ram speed when choosing a lower Memory Multi.

So you would use something like this to get closer to 1066 Ram speed. You may have to use less or more then 4GHz to get it exactly 1066 and be stable, as 533 FSB may not be stable for you to use >>>

                  other mind

i can reach higher RAM freq. with setting multipler e.g. 2.4, don't you think ?? unless it is not recommended for that fsb.

You mean 450 FSB? He/you could use 333 or 400 strap, 333 will provide a better result but is often hard to get stable with tighter ram timings

You can use the 2.4 Multi only with 333 or 400 strap and it is fine to use it anytime if you get best results with it

                      *EDIT*

In the above link I provided you can see which multi's are available for which straps used

No, I dont understand. What is PowerSW? The power switch? If you do mean that then you just have some incorrect settings

DESA? Dynamic Energy Saver Advanced? If so, no those would need to be enabled, your best bet is to use sleep or not worry about that type of thing since you want to overclock. You would only save a few $$ a year anyway
