Does anyone know if this is possible?

    It is absolutely possible.
What you need is a KVM switch___Keyboard-Video-Mouse.
Tom's hardware recently reviewed several .
It will be much more reliable if both systems use the same type keyboard and mouse ports. ie PS2 or AT connectors.
The better models provide emulation so that you can switch from one PC to another while both systems are powered on. The bargain types will require you to power down one system and then turn the switch to the other and then power it on.
Other reviews can also be found around the web by searching a bit.
My advice would be to get a good one for a few dollars more, but a simple type can be found at eBay for 20.00 or less quite readily.
I have 1 of the "cheapie" ones -- that's why I reccomend spending a little more, it would be worth it.

Awesome. The ones at Tom's hardware were a little on the expensive side for me though. I don't need the USB stuff, just the keyboard/video/mouse... and I'd like to be able to switch them over without turning off either system (is this known as "Keyboard Switching"?). If I couldn't do that it would eliminate the purpose for me. Some of the KVM's listed show that they don't come with cables. How expensive is it to buy the extra extending cables to connect 2 computers to the KVM for use with all three features? Could I find something this simple for around $50-$75, or does that sound unlikely?

      Thanks for the help.
