I have a Gigabyte EP43-DS3L and am doing a dual boot between Xp and Vista. I have a dial-up modem. When I dial-up to the internet in Vista, log off and then reboot into XP, the modem does not recognize that the dial tone is present. If I reboot and go into the Bios and then exit without saving the problem is fixed. I do not have to change any setting in the biows to fix the problem just enter the bios then exit. This is the only way to get the modem to recognize a dial tone in XP after using the modem in Vista. I have tried a couple versions of bios(currently using 8) and 2 different modems(currently a US Robotics). Any seggestions would be nice.
