EP45-UD3P + Mushkin 996599 Dual Channel..

Hello, I just built a new system, which was my first build. I am running 2 sticks of 2 GB 996599 in dual channel mode. In bios for Memory Frequency the reading 1066-890. Is this normal? or shouldn't they both read 1066?

As the memory is running at 890MHz I can see that you're overclocking and the FSB is at 445MHz. Set the system memory multiplier to 2.4D and the memory should be running at close to 1066.
RAM and FSB speed are always linked, see the "overclocking basics" link in my sig for further explanations.

In my bios which is F6, I don't have a multipler of 2.40D. I have 2.40B, 2.00D, and 2.66D. I have selected 2.4B and now memory frequency reads 1066-1068. Which is close enough I guess.

What you are seeing, mentioning is what is confusing you I think
1066-1068

What you see on the left is just the default, the value on the right 1068 at the moment is the actual Ram speed. You can disregard anything you see on the left as it is just defaults that may be in use, have been used in the past, or in use in the BIOS right then

If you need anymore help with your settings let us know, I can for sure help.

Putting performance enhance on standard will help with stability alot. So will setting your MCH and ram voltages.

I have just finished testing the system and is stabe at 20 hours of Prime95/Blend and 18 hours on Orthos. Can you please tell me if my system settings are alright? ... especially for 24/7 use..

Temps under load using Real Temp and Core Temp, never got over 52c.

Some of my default values, are different then the default ones in your last post, for instance:

In my bios default ICH I/O is 1.500v you have default at 1.550v. Is there a reason for this? Do I have to make a change? Thanks for taking the time to help Lsdmeasap. I know your very busy.

20 hours is a good long run, that is for sure likely stable for 24/7 use. Where you go from there is up to you, I mean do you want to tweak things for better performance, or try to lower voltages?

I think the default ICH Voltage may have been from a different board in my template is why. You can use 1.50 or 1.55, as I always had used 1.55 without issue

I do see some of your settings are mistyped or incorrect, like performance enhance there is no "Enabled" setting, and it should be set to Standard

As for the rest, I need to know what your plans are but I can say All Auto for your memory is not the best for performance. Extreme Memory Profile [Auto], should be disabled

You get 4.3Ghz on 1.29 Vcore? WOW, that is a good chip!

Lsdmeasap, I would like system tweaked for best performance. Higer voltages are fine. You are right about mislabled Performance Enhance... it should have been set on "turbo". What changes would you like me to make? Thank-you Lsdmeasap.

The system didn't like the lower timings at all. System would reboot, and reset to default bios. These settings seem to be stable, passed several hours of prime. What do you want me to do now?

I would lower tRD (Static tRead) First, see if you can get 7-8 working. More MCH voltage may be needed, or less so play around with it a bit. And you may need to use 2.05-2.08 Ram voltage. What do you get actual from the 2.0V setting on your board?

You are using BIOS profiles right so you dont have to re-enter everything when it fails? F11 on the MAIN page is save, F12 is load

Then if you can get tRD down, or not I would try this >>>

Hi Lsdmeasp, When you say actual voltage, where can I see the value for it? You say "may have to use 2.05-2.08 Ram voltage"... I thought max voltage that you could use, at least on Mushkin is 2.01?

Less MCH Voltage didn't work for me. Had to increase to 1.240 for it to post. Settings passed preliminary testing, no errors... One pass of Occt and couple of hours on Prime. I was going to try to lower some of the timings another notch, and increase MCH. However, you have a limit of 1.240 in a previous post, so I have left it there. I didn't increase Ram voltage. I wanted to find out more about going past the 2.1 mark.

Yes, most Mushkins Max warrantied (If you care about that, they cannot tell if you kill it unless you burn it 2.5V) is 2.1V. And most actually do better with 2.0-2.05 or so

Actual voltages for ram you can check general in the PC Health section of the BIOS after you apply a setting and reboot then check. And you can check with Everest in Computer/sensors section to see if it is the same in windows as well. HwMontior also picks this up correctly I believe

Actual CPU Voltage you can verify at Idle and Load with CPU-z

You wont need more then 2.1 for sure and actually it may cause more issues then not. MCH Core you can use more the 1.24 for sure, but it may or may not be needed just depends on the strap and multi you are using and tRD.

Ya, those advanced timings can still likely come down a bit
