above is what's going on.. I overclocked at 3.0ghz and ran linX for the first time and it had no errors.. my first stable OC however, in CPU-Z the core speed is only at 1800MHZ! where EVEREST says it's clocked at 3000.00MHZ a 12% OC.. I know it's a minor OC but i haven't been able to get 3.5GHZ stable. If anyone can help me as to why my core speed is only reading at 1800mhz with a solution to bring it to 3000mhz it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!

Well thats a bit strage. It would have said that the speed step has kicked in. I know not a lot about I7's and what FSB's they run and multipliers so I dont know what it is suppost to be but 150X12 =1800Mhz. Things to try is. 1) BIOS UPDATE?
      2) See if EIST the other thing in BISO are DISABLED (For this testing Purpose)
      3) Check BIOS and make sure you are actually running the correct clock settings.

Its wierd that Real Temp 3.00 is showing the same 1800mhz speed. Both Real temp and CPU-z versions are compatible with your CPU so there should be no problem there. Anyway try the couple of things and see what happens. Its also wierd that Speed step would be a factor as it shows 87% CPU load which would generally mean that it would up the multi back to the higher setting. Anyway disable it in the bios and see what happens.

I'm running the f8 bios.. my core speed keeps decreasing i don't know why.. it's now running a multiplier of X11.0 and running at 1649MHZ! what is going on?!

I would trust CPU-Z and RealTemp over Everest but one of those isn't reading your multiplier properly. Disable all C states in the BIOS and see what happens.

Turn off C1E and EIST in the bios
