Who is your ISP? Some of them these days are throttling and putting caps on bandwidth useage.

Can be what Conners said, I had an ISP once that when I asked why can't I connect to my e-mail server using POP3 protocol told me, "we sell you internet surfing package," 5 minutes later they were no longer my ISP.
May be a NIC driver problem. Do you still have connectivity when the stream stop. I had a driver problem with this board after I "updated" the driver using the "Update Driver" in device properties driver tab, that in fact downgraded to older version which after some time of use became non responsive.

If you don't have local connectivity problems e.g. you can still access the modem/router, take it with your infrastructure (cables / telephone) provider, and your ISP.

Well of course without knowing your ISP and upload/download rated speed it's kinda hard to say ne thing. But here are a few suggestions for you to try. BTW, I was looking at Dish Network yesterday cause my cable company can't get the NFL network. Their best internet package was a meer 1.5 Mbps down (thats like 187.5 KB/s) and 256 kbps up (32 KB/s). Now thats almost like dialup for I think around $80. LOL

Run a speed test. PC Pitstop is a good place to do that as well as test your whole computer.

Do a complete system clean up. Like Defrag, Disk Clean up delete internet cache. Run your virus/antispy programs. Check and clean your registery if needed. CCcleaner is good for that. Increase your virtrial memory. Disable hard ware accleration.

Could be just you have a slow connection to internet. Try the above and see if it helps. If not I got a few tweaks for you to try.
