  • P55 UD3R Bios update big trouble

    Hi,

I have the above motherboard and a a big problem encountered when trying to updatd BIOS. If I use @bios in windows 7 64 bits with bios file DL-ed from Gygabyte server (the file is correct for my mb) I get an error "BIOS PARTNUMBER(AWARD) is not correct". If I try qflash I get an error (more or less the same).
In @bios the current bios sign in message says: P55-UD3R F2.
On Gygabyte server I see that the first BIOS file is an F3. The current installed bios (F2 version) is the same that came with the board (purchased in September in a store in Romania).
I really need to update the BIOS since the F4 version solves the P55 and Iphone sync problem that gave me a lot of hard times lately.
Thank you all for your thoughts!

Well, it turns out I had bookmarked the wlink to p55a ud3r page and of course bios wasn't correct.
Anyways problem solved (and I had my first post since joining 6 years ago) :).

      Glad you sorted the issue.

On a side note, it's strongly recommended not to use @BIOS. You never know what can go wrong using a Windows program to flash a BIOS. QFlash is a low level tool and therefore much safer. For example a post today details where somebody used @BIOS to flash and ended up with both LAN ports not working. A re-flash using QFlash solved the problem.
