Problem with EGalax Gesture Support software for Touchnote t1028x

My software for the touchnote will not let me configure the gestures in the Egalax gesture support software. I check the boxes, specify the action, click Apply (or OK) and the boxes uncheck themselves as if I've never clicked them. I saw someone with this problem in a Touchnote review- she couldn't fix it either. My machine has Windows 7 starter. Anyone else have this problem?
