      Re: ex58 ud5 i7 920 freezing problem

Allright, thanks for help in advance. Now I can try less I have read elsewere that without power savings option soetimes it is better to keep it higher i will try tonight 1.33 and less, by the way graphic card is ati 5970. I have had problem with her on 2d clocks and freeze computer but this problem has been solved by upping MHZ in 2d mode with Cantalyst Control Centre. Anyway if you can just send me how should my voltages look for 3.8 and my ram timings, I have

from Intel core i7 920 D0 Stepping, Gigabyte ex58 ud5, Corsair 6GB pc3- 12800C* 1600MHz, Ati 5970, what timing and voltages should i Put to make it stable on 3.8.

      Thanks

        Re: ex58 ud5 i7 920 freezing problem

My 920 D0 @ 4GHz w/HT needs 1.312v, you are most likely way overvolting for 3.8GHz on a D0, mine wanted 1.24v for 3.8GHz. What is your CPU/IOH skew and core temps when under load? Also consider trying x19 multiplier, most Gigabyte boards can't do x20 multi properly with 920s and results in freezes, BSOD 101, reboots, and more. I can't get anything above 3.8GHz with x20 multi but have 4GHz fine with x19, its a well known problem. Recent bioses claim to fix x20 multi overclocking but thats complete crap, nothings changed at all.

allright I have changed multiplier to 19 blck is now 200 , qpi 1.33, ram 1.66, my ram is showing 1600mhz is it allright or I should downgrade to to 6x, and how timings should look.

I have change cpu core to 1.24, so far so good, no prob prime and temp on fuull load is 70 ari cooling by noctua. Anyway if you can just help how to setup timings ad if I would like to go for 4.00ghz what I would neeed to change.

try 1.35000 qpi,ram timings are on the side of your module, just type them in manually for example 8-8-8-24-command rate 1T,
what cpu multi are you using?

just set 21x200 bclk and try with around 1.36-1.380000v for qpi/vtt see how it goes, you may need to increae cpu voltage a few clicks if unstable, but try with qpi/vtt first, remember to lower you memory multiplier as it will rise/fall depending on what bclk you set

Absolute max is 1.35v for VTT, thats ALREADY out of spec, thats just going to damage the thing. I need 1.295v for 3.376GHz uncore/1.688GHz RAM @ 8-8-8-24-1T, this is with 19x211 and you're telling him to use turbo so his uncore/RAM will be even slower, <1.27v should be needed for speeds like that..

1.35 for qpi/vtt isnt the limit you can safely use upto 1.5v for qpi/vtt even lsdmeasap agrees,so i dont know why your scared to go higher,he will need more running at 4ghz and remember every mb/cpu will need less or more voltage it all depends on individual components, but you certainly wont damage anything
