    Hello guys, I would like to ask some questions regarding Dynamic Vcore (DVID)
    We know that DVID helps you get lower idle vcore when you OC which I like so I can get lower temps and low power consumption at idle.
    My chip VID at default with turbo enabled gives me 1.26875v, I have been using 1.28750v (BIOS) with LLC 1 which gives me 1.248v Load, 1.264v IDLE fine. So I wanted to give a try to DVID. I enabled DVID and I added the correct Value (0.01875v) so I can get the same 1.2875v I was using previously before activating DVID.
    My Load vcore is fine, it gives me 1.248v like before but the idle vcore is way to low now, I'm getting 0.960v IDLE which in fact is low and have caused to me stability issue at idle.
    The question now is there anyway I can bump my idle vcore without changing the load vcore?
    Is is better/safer to keep the Load Line Calibration at Standard when using the DVID?
    All power saving features are enabled in bios.

    I have not used this feature myself, so I have to ask you :)

    So increasing the DVID you set currently in order to get a higher idle voltage, in turn raises the load voltage as well?

    How about trying what you have now with LLC auto and Level 1, do they both give the same voltages

    I think LLC would be up to you, DVID shouldn't have any affect on your use of this.

    Like I said I don't use this, nor have I ever enabled it to play, so maybe someone with better knowledge of the setting will stop by to help you out.

    If they do not, I know some of the members at XS forums use this a lot, so if no one can help you here I can point you to the UD7 thread there so you could see if maybe someone there with better knowledge of this setting could help ya out.

      Increasing DVID will also raise the load vcore.
      With Level 1 I use +0.01875v DVID, with Standard I use 0.04875v DVID, I get same idle vcore in both settings. The only difference with Level I get in bios monitor reading for vcore 1.268v, with Standard I get bios reading 1.312v but either will give same idle and load vcore.
      I have checked XS and here there is also flyfisher, I may try to send him private msg so he can check this thread, I have read a post for him he is getting 1.07v idle and 1.232v load. I use more vcore than him and I'm getting 0.96v idle and 1.248v so how with my higher DVID value, I'm getting higher load vcore and lower idle vcore than him?

        Maybe you guys are using different BIOSes? Or maybe it varies from CPU to CPU?

            Idle Vcore depends on the multiplier you are using. On the system in my sig at 210x19 the vid is 1.16250V. I add +0.1625V with DVID to get 1.325V, which gives 1.264 load and 1.104 idle. LLC is off. CPU-Z never shows correct speed so I included Everest.


            If I use 182x22, the vid is 1.2875. I add +0.0375 to get 1.325, it still gives 1.264 load but only 0.992 idle.


            It appears the idle Vcore is higher at 210x19 because the idle CPU speed is higher. I think I will test at 19 multi but 182 Bclk to get the same idle CPU speed and see what happens.

            Edit: It is fully dependent on the multiplier. I tried 182x19 to get the same idle speed and the Vcore remains at 1.104V.

              Can you try with multi 21?
              I'm using 191x21 4GHz with your same vcore 1.3250v which gives me without DVID 1.280v idle and 1.25v load or 1.27500v with LLC1 level 1 which give me 1.248v idle/load.
              With DVID my idle speed 2292MHz with 0.960v idle vcore which is causing freezing at idle only for me. So Im trying to get the idle vcore to 1.100v at least, can I do that with multi 21x?

                At 190x21, vid is 1.2250V, I added +0.1000V with DVID = 1.3250V Vcore. Load is 1.264 again, idle is 1.040. Try the 19 multi with 191 Bclk and see what your idle becomes, it isn't going to happen with the 21 multi on a 920. You should be able to do 211 Blck easily with the UD7.

                  ^^ what voltage does the bios use when you set to normal voltage setting for the cpu?? you might be able to set it to normal,then disable c1e in the bios and use windows balanced profile in power saving,it will lower cpu voltage when idle just the same as dvid but not under load





                  i just set dvid to normal

                  updated pics with f12 bios,which i find uses alot less qpi/vtt than the f13bios's

                  just had a quick play with dvid ad i found it works without c1e enabled in the bios if you set to balanced profile in windows7

                  for a 21x191 clock you need to add +0.0750v to get these voltages at idle and under load





                  and heres the difference in idle/load voltages from using balanced and high performance





                  ^^ balanced profile 100%load



                  ^^ high performance profile 100%load

                  ^^ difference in voltage under 100% load from using balanced profile and high performance + it wont lower the cpu multi or voltages at idle when in high performance profile

                  p.s i managed to get a stable 4.2ghz 200x21 with dvid of +0.07500v added to a cpu vcore of 1.18750,qpi/vtt 1.3000v,incase anyone wanted to try with those 79c on hottest core and 8xram=1600
