    Hello,
So my first rig consitists of a ga-ep45-ud3p rev. 1.6, a 750hx psu,
    currently a e8400, about 2 b upgraded 2 a q9550, and now 8 gigs of
    OCZ2RPR10664GK, a 1tb wd hard drive and a brand new OCZSSD2-2VTX40G. I have 2
problems. #1 when I got my second kit of OCZ2RPR10664GK, I have had to lower my
oc from 4.04ghz down to stock because no matter how much voltage i give 2 the
northbridge and 2 the ram (1.32 volts and 2.2) it either gets into an endless
reboot loop (at my origanal speed of 4ghz) or it freezes in boot or gets an
error in windows that says it will shutdown in 1 minute and areo looks like the
basic theme with the grayish blue colors. I know that running 8 gigs stress the
northbridge but idk how to make it work. im gonna run memtest with just the 2
new sticks soon to c if the sticks r bad. #2 my new ssd slows down the sata
bios detection. It hangs while its detecting the ssd then gives the message
smart command failed. I have the FE bios and the 1.11 firmware on the drive. I
have my 1tb in the 1st sata port till I install windows 7 on the ssd and then
the ssd then the dvd drive. I tried downgrading the firmware of the ssd but it wont let me. Thank you.

    Re: ga-ep45-ud3p problems

You may not be able to run 8GB at 1066, is that what you were trying?

Please give me the full settings you try that fail in a template from my signature, then we can advise back.

You may be trying to much speed, incorrect Vtt, wrong memory strap, to low of a tRD, ect. Many things could be the cause of issues, but we need to see what you are trying first before we can help.

The SMART error is a known issue with Sandforce drives, I just asked for a BIOS fix for this model so I will let you know once I hear back, just hold on a bit.

So you don't need help with the above settings then? If not, give me the ones you do need help with, or wait until you get your new CPU then we'll try it all again.

the mobo has a dual bios feature which, if the main 1 fails, it applies the deafault settings from the second 1. and yes lsdmeasap, its good now, ill let u kno when i get the new cpu in

              Re: ga-ep45-ud3p problems

OK, well when you try again, if you do with this system, you may want to try the following changes

              Driving Strength Profiles (Both channels)
              Driving Strength ............................800mhz << Set 1066

              Motherboard Voltage Control
              CPU
              CPU Vcore….……….........................:1.3625(setting , actual 1.344)
              CPU Termination…..... 1.200V*.......: << 1.2 << This may need increased, especially with 8GB of memory. Try 1.24-1.34
CPU PLL…………………....1.500V*.......: << 1.6 << Not needed, you can use 1.5-1.55 for sure
              CPU Referen.…………....0.755V*.......: <<< Auto
              CPU Reference2………,,0.800V*.......:<<< Auto

              MCH/ICH
MCH Core…………….....1.100V...........: << 1.32 << Try less, with the above Vtt increase it may be possible (Maybe 1.26-1.32)
              MCH Reference….…….0.760V...........; <<< Leave << Auto
              MCH/DRAM Ref.…......0.900V...........: <<< Leave << Auto
              ICH I/O……………….....1.500V............: <<< auto
              ICH Core…………...……1.100V............: <<< auto

              DRAM
              DRAM Voltage ……....1.800V............: 2.22(setting, speedfan=2.21)
              DRAM Termination .…0.900V............: <<< << Auto
              Channel A Reference 0.900V............: <<< 1.110 << Auto
              Channel B Reference 0.900V............: <<< 1.110 << Auto

You are confusing between two different things.
In the event settings fail BIOS attempts to boot with a previous known settings, or find good settings.
The dual BIOS take effect only when the main BIOS is corrupted and then reflash main BIOS or boot from the backup BIOS.
My understanding is that you only had multi boot, is that correct?

                  Re: ga-ep45-ud3p problems

I think he just meant what he tried failed, so defaults were loaded.

But yes, he is confused I think, as that has nothing to do with Dual BIOS - as you mentioned

Great, good luck changing things over!!

Yes, and I'm sorry about the wait!! I was sent the BIOS a day or so ago, and could not find every user that has asked me, so I missed this thread that night.

I did post it on the BIOS sticky thread, but I meant to PM everyone but couldn't remember who all asked, so my apologies again!

                          Here ya go!

Thank you very much!! the new bios is great! its zips right through the sata detection, ive installed windows 7 on my new drive and man is it fast. Im gonna be putting in the cpu 2day. another interesting thing I noticed in this bios is that it allows my e8400 to have a 9.5 multiplier, compared to the normal 9 multi. I hope that it will have an extra multi like that on my new cpu lol. btw, after installing windows 7 on the ssd, I noticed that in the device manager it says that my hdd (in the 2nd sata port, 1) sometimes is only running at multi-word DMA mode 2. the ssd and the cd drive are at mode 5, any theroies on that? btw, if i sounded impaitent in the last post im sry, i was just curiouse. i was not expecting u 2 b so fast! i was wondering, do u actualy work 4 gigabyte or do u just spend a lot of time helping people on here? either way thank you!
