  • EX58-UD5 randomly assigns the hdds to a device on boot

Whenever I boot my motherboard decides to randomly assign the various attached hdds to different devices, this is causing a whole lot of issues with GRUB (boot loader for linux). Actually, my system drive (OCZ Vertex 64gig) is always SDA1, however, my hdds are randomly assigned to different devices each boot, eg one day my main datastorage hdd is /dev/sdb, next day its /dev/sdc. Does anyone have an idea how to manually configure this, perhaps in the bios? Im using the F13q bios iirc

I've never seen or heard of this issue, do you know if it always happened with other BIOSes as well?

You could try clearing the CMOS for an extended period, then re-enter your settings and see if that corrects is.
