  • 870 extreme 3 Raid 0 ?

trying to get both my 250 gig drive set to raid 0, heres the trouble . I do not have a floppy to create raid disc.

I have followed the setting up raid instructions and still cant figure out what I might be doing wrong.

There is not enough information in your post to reply with a useful reply.

RAID setup in the BIOS is required first. After enabling RAID in the BIOS, there is another quick setup screen during bootup where you need to do the hard drive setup as described in the instructions on the CD.

      When this is done...

If you are trying to install Windows 2000/XP, then you will either need a Floppy disk or create a custom CD/Flash image of the Windows 2000/XP Setup with the RAID Drivers integrated. (Google nLite)

If you are trying to install Windows Vista/7, you can start the install process using the DVD normally. When Windows Setup asks where to install Windows, choose your raid hard drive. If the RAID drive is not seen, you will need to choose the "load Drivers" option and load the RAID drivers on the CD or on a flash drive where you put the drivers.

Put raid drivers to a CD or usb mem stick.

In BIOS setup put SATA mode to RAID.

In raid setup utility (ctrl+f) you define LD and add both of your 250GB drives to it (put stripe size to 128 for best performance). Reboot the computer. You may have to remove all drives that show in JBOD before creating a raid 0 set..
