  • N61P-S Supports AHCI?

    Hello AsROCK fellows!

I have a problem with my computer. The problem is that I have bought a new SSD who is not fully compatible with my motherboard I think. I've installed the OS using IDE Mode, now I fee that the computer speed is really slow. I have been told to re:install the OS using AHCI mode to solve that problem.

The thing is, that i can't find any menu to change from IDE to AHCI. Now I wonder what to do. Is it possible to run a SSD harddrive on IDE mode without problems? Do I have to buy a new motherboard? Or is it just me who can't find the AHCI mode on my motherboard?

Note. I got the last BIOS-update installed, The SSD is OGZ Agility 60GB, I have read the manual for my motherboard, but found nothing about AHCI.

    Thanks in advance
    /L

Not sure on your board, but I recieve a separate Bios Setup Guide for the 870 Extreme3. It shows under the "Storage Configuration" tab and it's called "SATA Operation Mode"

When I check under that menu, It shows to me two options IDE and RAID.
