I'm using it right now and it's been fine aside from the onboard sound not working. I've tried everything I can think of short of buying a sound card.

Don't think I can RMA it because Newegg will say it's my fault. -.-

        Re: extreme 3 gen 3

I just built a new setup with this board the other day.
Until I updated the bios to the newest version, it was rather buggy... but the instant flash worked from usb like a champ, and the only bug I've found, is if you hit the delete key for the bios. (it accepts f2 or del) but if I hit f2, no problem.

Otherwise it's a pretty solid board so far (knock on wood!) especially for 125$ from newegg... I'm pleased. Except for the fact today motherboard manufacturers previewed their X79 chipset boards coming out evidently in November.... <smack face>

Yeah, it really is a great board aside from the onboard sound dying. I just popped in a sound card and everything is great of course. It's a real steal for only $125.

Future proof too with pcie 3.0. The sandy bridge cpu's won't be obsolete for quite a while either since they're so damn fast. (The 2500k and 2600k's)

haven't ordered it yet waiting for the bios to mature a bit
also one last thing you might try
physically unhook the front panel audio connector

Yeah that was one of the first things I did; I've given up on it.

I read that it was a realtek problem with a bad batch, not ASRock's fault.
