  • Review Crunch - Will B Out 1 Week Or So!

    Hello All!

I have an article I need to get finished ASAP (X79), and another few I need to start diving into as well, so I have to take about a week off from the forums to finish this one I'm currently working on now as I need it done as soon as I can. So, after tonight I will not be in the forums each night to be able to help users, but I will probably still be stopping in when I can to check on things and to help any users with major emergencies.

I don't have to get all the articles done within a week so don't worry, but one of them I do really need to get finished now, so that is why I'm having to take time away from the forums. The other reviews I mentioned shouldn't stop me from being online to help in the forums as I do them, I have a month or so to get those done, so I'll be able to work on them at a more friendly pace and will be back in the forums as soon as I finish up this X79 review.

So, please accept my apologies now for my impending absence!!

If anyone has a major emergency they need me to help with feel free to message me as I'll still be around and can jump in to help if needed. For everything else, I'm sure all of our awesome mods and power users here will be able to help you with most any issues!

I would like to thank you all for your awesome and continued support here! And a massive thanks to all of the users who come here for help and appreciate everyone's guidance here as well, you are all very much appreciated!!!

Please pass this info along if anyone asks about me, thanks! And kindly bump if you read this and it's not at the top, just so anyone looking for me knows, thanks guys!

    See you soon!

Na, I was just gone so long I totally missed X79 launch, so catching up on that now. It's a X79-UD3 I'm doing a review on, planned to do it vs X58, but none of my 1366 CPU's seem to be working out for what I planned so I may have to do it vs P67/Z68 :(

Thanks Boondocks, your kind words are most appreciated!!

Looks like it's going to be a bit longer until I get back guys, everything has been going terribly with several things over the past week, so needless to say my expected time frame is out the window!

I'll get back in here full time as soon as I can!! As mentioned above, if anyone has any major emergency they think I can help with feel free to PM me and I'll reply if it's something important that I can indeed help with, if not I may not get to everyone's PM's until I get back in.

        Keep on rocking your GIGABYTE's!!!

Re: Review Crunch - Will B Out 1 Week Or So!

Argggggggggggggggggg!! Sorry guys and gals!! I've been swamped and took on way more than I can chew!

This was not my intention at all, I ended up filling my plate with way more than intended (4 reviews and a hardware beta test), and trust me from now on it's going to be one thing at a time or nothing!

Hopefully I'll be able to wrap up this weekend or early next week, it's looking very promising as I'm seeing the end in sight now!

Again my deepest apologies for my frequent absences!! I need to learn how to speed up my review process, or just quit doing them altogether, which I'd rather not do, so only more practice will improve things.

          Will be in shortly, promise!

Yes, OMG!!! Guys I am VERY SORRY about how long this is taking!!!

I never expected it to take me this long, maybe 2 months at most, but there's just SO MUCH testing and benchmarking involved. Add to that the MANY hours of failed benchmarks when trying to figure out the overclocks speeds and voltages (For each device - CPU, Mem, GFX, ect) that I'll use for each review, redoing whole rounds of tests (many times due to incorrect settings only noticed later), and just overall amount of benchmarks I've chosen to use on each test. Never again will I do more than one item at a time, when I review only one thing I can be in the forums as well, everything I took on at once this time is what made that not possible for me.

To add onto all of the above, I was selected for a very extensive and involved hardware beta test for NETGEAR, so that didn't help either. I'm doing my very best to get this all done ASAP so I can get back into the forums, I miss helping you guys assist other users, and I really miss our overall communications on these forums. I consider this place my second home (First online), and I hate not being able to get in here each night to be with you all! I know, sounds mushy haha, but it's true, you guys are all my friends and I love being here helping you to help others. Just wanted to let you know a little about how I personally feel about this, my absence here probably bothers me a lot more than it does you guys, I really hate it and wish I could work faster on these reviews!

I'll be done shortly I promise! I had to redo a whole round of tests again over the weekend, so that took up my time that I planned to be finishing things up, so now I'm trying to wrap it all up each night after work during the week. Hopefully this week I'll get it done, I think so!!!

Hope this at least explains a little for those that think a review is a simple task and is just a bunch of pics and a few benchmarks, it is in NO WAY a simple thing to do, unless that review is a @ stock speeds review. It would be nice if it was easy, but for me at least it's anything but, especially when trying to do more than one at once.

All my tests are done now, hopefully anyway haha! I'm no pro at excel, so graphs/charts take me a while to do, and then edit pics and write out the review is all I have left. Well putting it all together takes time too, but not nearly as much as the above mentioned things, but anyway the main part (benchmarking) is done now, so I'm hoping to wrap this up quickly so I can join you all on the forums once again!
