Re: Newegg Return of Asrock Z77 Pro 4
If you saw that the pins were bent when you received it why didn't you do something about it then?
If you still have the board in your possession you could try to carefully straighten the pins out your self. Just be very careful and only move them in small movements to bend them back into place. You can use a Mechanical Pencil with out lead in it or a small pin or something to move them.Main Rig

Re: Newegg Return of Asrock Z77 Pro 4
I received the board and just had reboot problems and memory problems. The CPU socket seemed fine. I took a picture since as a force ofhabit since I had a problem with a different vendor along time ago. When Newegg received the board they said thatthe pins were bent. I have photos before and after. I guess this will be a losing battle.
Thanks,

Ohh ok so those pics, one was before and the other was after you got it back from newegg when they said it had bent pins? It is possible when you replaced the plastic cover that covers socket is when the pins could have gotten bent as that has happened before. I say its up to you, you could try and straightened them as I said.Main Rig

Re: Newegg Return of Asrock Z77 Pro 4
I had the same issue with an Newegg RMA of an Extreme3 X79 for a DIMM slot issue. Now I have built dozens of puters over the years and
Newegg treated me like an idiot. When I got the board back , the CPU pins looked like someone took a screw driver to it. No thermal paste that I could see.
The message reads.....
"Unfortunately, the below item(s) was physically damaged and beyond the applicable Newegg.com warranty coverage as indicated in our Standard Warranty Policy. Motherboard was received with apparent end-user caused physical damage to CPU socket contact pins.
There are traces of thermal paste on the CPU socket and several pins have been bent backwards beyond repair. Motherboard is also missing the I/O Shield.
Items received with physical damage cannot be processed by Newegg and voids our return policy. End-user would need to contact the product manufacture for direct support.
RMA denied, return to customer. "
This is the same response several other people got that I read in Newegg's forums.Like a form letter.
Really pisses me off. I am tempted to boycott Newegg from now on and am deciding what coarse of
action I am going to take.

Did you remember to put the plastic cover back on the cpu socket when you shipped the board? If so. I'd start a dispute with your credit card company. Get your money back.
I like Newegg, they usually have great service, but they aren't perfect.
