    Hey yall,

    Motherboard: Z77X-UP7
    CPU: i7-3770K
    RAM: Corsair CMD16GX3M4A2133C9 (4x4GB)
    PSU: Seasonic X1250

Thanks ahead of time for any support that you can send my way. I've been putting together a brand new system with a Z77X-UP7 and a 3770K. The first time I turned my system on, a screen came up to say that a corrupt bios was being rebuilt. Afterword, it rebooted and became stuck on debug code 69 - ioh dxe initialization. Code 69 might seem a bit comical at first, but this code has been driving me crazy to no end.

I haven't been able to get the system to post at all. I unplugged the whole set up, took it out of the case, and did a bare bones set up on cardboard with 1 stick of ram, ssd, cpu cooler, monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I still received the same error. I swapped out sticks of ram, unplugged different peripherals, and still received the same debug code 69. I tried switching to the backup bios. I also tried to reseat the CPU just in case. I also tried switching between on-board graphics and a graphics card. Same error. The CPU socket area makes a strange hissing sound when the power is on. I thought it was my fans or h80 pump, but I unplugged them and heard the same noise. I didn't notice the sound until the mobo was out of the case and on cardboard. I am not sure if I have a CPU issue or a mobo issue.

I've been using the Seasonic X1250 on another system, and it was working fine prior to putting it in this one. I don't think it is causing the problem.

If you have any advice for a newbie, I would really appreciate it. I'm really excited about this board, so I'd like to get everything up and running.

are you able to get in to the bios? could you possibly update the bios and then load optimized defaults?

maybe unplug the PSU from the wall, pull the battery... press and hold the Power on button to drain any residual capacitor power and leave the system for 30 minutes. then reinstall the battery, power the system up, go in the bios and Load Optimized Defaults and re-boot again and see if you have the same issue.

Try that and go from there but if you just bought that MB, I'd see if you can exchange it... to have those issues out of the gate isn't a good start.

Hi Vinster, thanks for the tips. Unfortunately, I am unable to get to the bios. I've also tried switching between the main bios and the back up bios to no avail.

I followed your tip to unplug everything, including the battery, and leave it sit for 30 minutes. After plugging things back together, I still was unable to get it to post or get to bios.

I will probably try to send it back, but I am unsure if it is a mobo issue or a cpu issue. Should I just hedge my guess and send the mobo back? I don't have an extra socket 1155 to test, so any advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

If you have tested the Power supply and it's fine then I would look at the MB next. the issue you have having, I have never seen before on this Forum.

was the board bought from a local retailer or online? my first thought is the board before the CPU.

I purchased everything from an online retailer. I'll start the mobo return process. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the advice. Alas, I tried these suggestions, but nothing seemed to work. I contacted Gigabyte tech support, and they told me to RMA the board. I will be returning it. Thank you again.
