  • BSOD 0x3b caused by igdkmd64.sys

Edit, sorry Forgot to mention It's on an Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 with an i2500k.

I have an external video card which my display is connected through hdmi for video output and I have a dummy vga monitor set up with the intel igpu to take advantage of quicksync decoding for video. The problem is my system bluescreens during boot if I have my display off. Usually, I use WOL to start my system to listen to music with the display off, so having it crash during boot is a problem. It occasionally crashes after I turn my display on and off. Blue screens do not happen when I disable the igpu in the BIOS.

Problem has existed over several fresh OS installs including both Win 7 and 8. I have usd a variety of drivers from the generic MS one, to the one provided by Asrock, which by the way has a bug in it related to VC-1 decoding that the latest one from intel does not. All versions of the intel drivers crash as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
