  • Video Card Setting Q's

Well I was looking through some settings for my graphics card. And I was wondering which ones should I have enabled? I would probably rather have performance over quality. Here are the list of settings.

    Open GL -

    Enable Vetical Sync
    Disable 32-bit Z-buffer
    Enable sub pixel accuracy
    Force full scene anti-aliasing
    Enable texture compression
    Force anisotropic filtering

    Direct3D -
    Disable Vertical Sync
    Force full scene atnti-aliasing
    Disable 32-bit z buffer
    Enable fast z buffer optimization
    Disable texture compression
    Disable hyperZ acceleration
    Disable hierarchial z optimization
    Enable fog table
    Enable surface color fill
    Force Anisotropic Filtering

OK now which ones should I have on and which should be off? I would prefer performance over looks :thumb:

i dont know what most of them mean, but this one i do:

Full Screen Anti-Aliasing (FSAA) is where all the jagged edges are removed from walls etc, generally everything u see on the screen. i think you can have it: Off, 2x, 4x...4x is the best, but it lowers performance.

have a look around the tabs on the Video Card options:

      Display >> Settings >> Advanced

in there somewhere should be a box saying, 'adjust for best performance' .. give that a try :thumb:
