  • CrossfireX issue

    I've recently added a second 6950 graphics card to my system and since it has gone in what ever game i'm playing randomly crashes and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del and cancel the program to get out. I first thought it was just BF4 crashing as it is full of bugs atm but I tried going back and playing BF3 and it is still doing the same. Do I need to set up the system to cope with dual graphics cards? I thought it was just a case of stick the card in with a bridge and away you go. Should I have just sold my old 6950 to help fund a 7970 or alike instead? This is really annoying as I rarely get time to play these games and when I do I don't want it to be crashing every 10 mins . Any help/advice would be great!

        Hey Wazza,

        I didn't catch the code, I was trying to take a pic of the screen before it disappeared but I was too slow. It sometimes crashed to a black screen and I have to Alt+Ctrl+Del and I can shut down just bf4 but other times it gives me the the BSOD. I was looking into it and it seems to be a common problem and some people have managed to fix it with driver updates, i've uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the most up to date drivers and it still happened. I read on a forum that sometimes it can be caused by the cards not syncing together properly and something to do with the modulating fan speeds so I have cranked them up to 100% instead of Auto and so far i've not had a crash again. Saying that i've only played 1 game since then but it's looking good so far.

            Re: CrossfireX issue

            Cheers Wazza. I haven't tried anything like that I just uninstalled AMD Catalyst and all related components and re installed that. Should I try the display driver uninstaller as well? I tried playing campaign and it happened again but I managed to quickly snap a pic of it while the BSOD was displayed;

              idk what that code is for,does it crash on any other games?

              bf4 is very buggy atm esp online

              and yh you can use that program it wipes all amd gpu drivers even hidden ones and lets you do a clean install
