      Thanks for a nice guide , allthough I miss still some answers, as I can't get steady results.
      In [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver] I seek some info about NetServerMaxTickRate=20.

      In [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice] I seek info about:
      UseStencil=False (Is True better?)
      MaxPixelShaderVersion=255
      LevelOfAnisotropy=1 (This setting does not seem to do anything)
      DetailTexMipBias=0.800000
      DefaultTexMipBias=-0.500000
      UseNPatches=False
      TesselationFactor=1.000000
      CheckForOverflow=False
      UseXBoxFSAA=False (Can this be used as FSAA on a PC?)

      In [WinDrv.WindowsClient] I seek info about:
      TextureMaxLOD=0
      TextureMinLOD=0

      My system:
      AMD 1900+
      ASUS A7V333 w 512MB PC2700
      ATI 9700 Pro 128MB
      SB Audigy

      Will you put some (or all) of these settings in a future upgrade to your guide?

      TIA

        I'm definitely looking into those, though some of them do nothing at the moment (as you've discovered). I will include them in the next update to the guide, which will be when the new patch is released :)

            :)

            thanks PersionImmortal for taking the trouble to write the guide - well useful !

            Even though I have a high-end'ish system ...

            1.9 GHz P4
            3DPower GF3 Ti500 64MB
            SoundBlaster Audigy
            750 MByte RDRAM
            GigaByte GA-8ITXE Mobo

            I am still getting the 'frame freeze' thing happening on occasion - especially when the action hots up.

            Was running nVidia 40.42 drivers so will change to 40.72 WHQL Beta, and will fiddle around with other settings some more but I should at least be able to use 'High' settings on the in-game detail settings.

            Do you have any info on what issues the first offical patch is likely to address - would the 'freeze frame' be one of them ?

            thanks again :-)

              I'm sure if it's a genuine issue the first patch will address it. Otherwise let's just wait and see. I'm sure new graphics drivers will also incorporate some fixes specific to UT2003 (as they have already for the Radeon).

              In your case, it would be the 40.42 detonators that are the problem. If you check the readme.int.txt file in your UT2003\Help directory, you'll find that the 40.41 (and likely 40.42) drivers are a known cause of problems.

                PersianImmortal what about the New NVidia Detonator 41.03 Drivers ? I hear they are good but i have not tried them myself.

                  I use the 40.71s myself without any problems and the 40.72s and 41.03s probably work well with UT2003 as well. But remember these are all BETA drivers, and until nVidia release a final version of the detonator 40s, there may be some problems with some configurations.

                  I only mention the 40.41s specifically because the developers have said there is a known problem with them and UT2003, so avoid the 40.41s (and 40.42s) for sure.

                    PersianImmortal well ever 40. something drivers i tried worked just fine in unreal 2003. Think last drivers i had before any of the 40. something drivers were the 29.42 or 30.30 but they sorta had slow downs in unreal 2003 the 40. something drivers really helped making my unreal 2003 a lot smoother in gameplay.
