  • ASRock Z77 Extreme4 BIOS not recognizing PCIE video card (PowerColor R9 270X)

The ASRock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard (with BIOS P2.90) doesn't recognize my PCIE video card (PowerColor R9 270X); BIOS system browser indicates PCIE slot are empty & video card DVI outputs do not work. Also doesn't appear in Windows device manager.

    I tried the following:

    • R9 270X video card in different computer (video card then works)
    • PCIE2 & PCIE3 slots (no video output on R9 270X)
    • Clearing CMOS (no video output on R9 270X)
    • Setting PCIE link speed to Auto, Gen1, Gen2, Gen3 (no video output on R9 270X)
    • Setting 'IGPU Multi-Monitor' to 'Disabled' (no video output on R9 270X)
    • monitor only connected to MB (MB DVI output works)
    • monitor connected to either DVI connector on R9 270X (no video output on R9 270X)
    • monitor connected to MB & additional monitor connected to R9270X (MB video works, no video output on R9 270X)
    • measured 2 additional power connectors on end of R9 270X (all yellow at 11.95V relative to black)
