Dear Sirs,
Firstly I would like to mention that I'm not extremely good with computers so kindly excuse my 'noobiness'. I am running the following setup:
Motherboard: Gigabyte x79-UD3
BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrends Inc. F18, 12/17/2013
SMBIOS Version: 2.7
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
Video Card: Radeon HD 6950 (1GB)
RAM: 4x 4GB DDR3 Cosair Vengeance
HD: 60 GB Cosair Force 3 SSD
1 TB Western Digital SATA3
Keyboard/Mouse: Logitech G510/M175
PSU: Antec 750W
Around May'14 I began getting random restarts every few hours while my PC was on, active or inactive. The frequency of these restarts kept increasing over a period of 3 weeks, until it came to a point where my PC did nothing but restart over and over with no display on my monitor. I called up my tech guy and he told me to take my Mobo to gigabyte. I got a replacement Mobo in 15 days, however it began giving me restarts (one every few hours) on the very first day. I took it back to them and they blamed it on the heatsync, they applied a new heatsync and the core temperature went down, my pc didn't restart for the 2 hours they kept it there for testing. So i figured all was fine and brought it back home.
However after a couple of weeks the restart problem started yet again, it restarts once every few hours and it really pisses me off. I am unsure if this is a hardware problem or a software one. Googling suggested it could be BioS related however I do not possess the knowledge to diagnose that on my own. Hence I kindly request you to help me out.
Sincerely
Hamza Sayed
