Short version: removed the ddr2 sticks, popped in some cheap kingston 2x4GB DDR3 1600Mhz sticks and can't even reach BIOS, just restarts a couple of times with no video signal and then idles. Then tried some more expensive GSKILL 2x4GB 1333MHz sticks, same result. Help please.
Long version: Used to run 4x1GB DDR2 800Mhz and since one of those modules died(likely due to the board's tendency to overvolt DDR modules) and 4GB just wasn't cutting these days I wanted to upgrade to 8GB and these days the price of 8GB ddr2(100$+) doesn't really seem worth it for such an old pc.
I've checked the previous threads on GA P35C boards and DDR3 memory but couldn't find any pattern/surefire way to find out which 4GB ddr3 memory modules could work on these boards, it seems the same memory might work on one guy's board and not on another even if it's the same mobo revision.

I don't have any other DDR3 sticks to experiment with(otherwise I would've checked whether 1066MHz or 2GB sticks would work).
I know that with my DDR2 800MHz sticks and a 2x mem multiplier I could still OC my cpu up to 9x400MHz(3.6GHz). Would that still be the case with DDR3 1066MHz?
My teamelite DDR2 sticks have lifetime warranty so I asked them whether it'd be possible if rather than just have an RMA/replacement I could pay to have them upgraded to 4x2GB DDR2 sticks that would work on this board, still waiting on a reply.
There are some cheap 35$ 4x2GB ddr2 kits on ebay(hong kong) but with no mention of which CL they are nor what voltages they can support(this board easily overvolts ddr2 to 1.94V).
I'm still hoping there's some magic trick that would allow me to run some cheap and reliable 8GBs ram and extend the life of this amazingly longlasting machine.
