    Hi guys,

Well my Brother has a dell Pc which he bought some time last year. Specs are 256 Rambus mem, 2ghz P4, Geforce 3 Ti, 80gb Hd and Cd roms etc etc.

Anyway he has asked me to find a new motherboard for him. I want to check that it would be as easy as swapping a motherboard out on any other Pc. I.e one that is custom built. Pull everything out install the new motherboard stick everything back in along with DDR mem. Format the hard drive and re install Windows. Boom he should have a nice new Asus based Pc.

check if its atx or microatx before looking for motherboards.
but as long as its a standard (ATX,mATX) mobo, upgrading will be no problem

chances are you will need a new power supply aswell because some branded PCs use different wireing layouts on the connectors
a new case may also be needed if the new power supply wont fit into the original case
