    hi can you tell me if a 450wat power supply will damage
    my motherboard or is it satisfactory, it is a n asrock k7s8xe
    running xp thanks

    It depends, what brand and model number? Although odds are, if its a 450,generic or not it should be okay.

    depends on the total power consumption of your system, but 450W is more than enough for most systems
    I've gone too far and need to move on!

    You shouldn't have to worry about a PSU (Power Supply Unit) damaging your system unless the PSU's adapter doesn't match your boards 20 pin power connector (Some are 24 pin for dual Xeon). If you use a high end graphics card, make sure the PSU is a trusted brand like Antec or something very stable along that line. If its a cheap PSU you might experience graphic hiccups or application restarts\freeze ups after the PSU warms up. Remember quality matters MUCH more than total wattage when it comes to a PSU, that is if you really want a rock solid stable system.
