Can i ask you what revision bios you are running on your motherboard. the reason is i'm havin some technical issues at the mo to do with CPU, mobo, and the mem.
Im running a7n8X deluxe model 2.0 which came with bios revision 7003. Two days ago i flashed the rom to the new revision bios to 1007 because i thought it might fix some things to do with the memory speed and CPU speed. im running 2100+
    and infineon 2700 333 mem
but my system just crashes intermittently when i try to set the memory to 133 and the cpu to 133. when i set automatic settings for cpu and mem. my pc just runs detected as a 1500+ running at 1.30gig. i have tried a number of things and you can brosw some of my other posts to see what wiggo and snowpro have said. i have tried out some of their advice and instructions. and i thought we had cracked it because my machine ran for fine doing general tasks in xp, but then when i tried performing benchmarks even it worked fine but crashed in pcmark2002 and 3dmark2001se on the 7th test. but then when i came to pwoer pc up yesterday, my system consistently crashes after 60 secs or 10 mins or 15. i don't understand why teh board won't detect and run my mem at even 133 when its capable of 166. and the cpu should even run fine at 133 so i can get my full clock speed 1.72 gig. Do you have any suggestions which might help me out. i know you run even slower mem but same board and same cpu???? this is really annoying me because ive tried loweing page filing and setting xp pro to best performance switching off all the glamour.my recent problems from wiggo and snowpro. not got anywhere since?

I split this from the other thread since it didn't really belong. I'm not going to answer this right now since I don't have the time, but I'll get back to it soon so don't despair :)

Whats the wattage on your PSU? If your having random shut downs/restarts, your PSU may not be supplying your system with enough power, or you could have a bad PSU. I would check the molex connectors and see if they al have the right voltage.

I could be way off here but its worth a shot.
