Does anyone know if a Voodoo 3 video card will work in the Asus P4C 800E Deluxe mobo? I wouldn't think so, but I'm not sure.

Nope... the Voodoo cards took more than 1.5v to power them, which is the upper limit for that particular motherboard.

Are you sure? My Voodooo 3 was AGP 4x (2.0)...

You can double check it if you like, but I'm pretty sure the Voodoo3 3000 I had a good while back was only a AGP2x board, which requires 3.3v to run. If there is a different revision, then I'll stand corrected.

Well, it came in our Compaq system in 1999, and it was a 4x system, so I assumed the card was as well.

Found this with a quick Google search. Talk about a blast from the past!

Looks like both the 2000 and 3000 series boards were 2x so you'll need the 3.3v slot to make them work. All newer P4 boards using Intel chipsets have been requiring 1.5v boards to work so the Voodoo is out the window.

If I remember rightly also the Voodoo 4/5 AGP cards even though bein' supposed 4x AGP spec'd were keyed wrongly as to not fit Intel's 1.5v AGP spec'd slots.
