Default Epox 8KHA+ mobo and HL2

My mobo is getting a bit old now tho it works real fine

If I stay with it what are my upgrade options

    At present
    Winxp pro
    512 2100 ddr ram
    1.6 athlon chip
gf 4200 128 mb vid card

If a new mobo is the best option what should I go for

    thx

Honestly, a new mobo isn't going to do the trick for you. Sure, it might account for some performance gain, but not enough to notice, unless you plan to upgrade the CPU and RAM.

A better upgrade would be to get a better video card, but even that depends on what resolution and if you use AA and AF in gaming. Have you played HL2? If it's working fine and you're not having speed issues related to graphics...you're just blowing money.

If I stick with my present mobo Id like something like a radeon 9800 pro

    And maybe a faster cpu

I do not use AA or AF in gaming
