    Default Heatsink Attatching Problem

OK, I built my computer around November and have had no troubles since then, but recently, I somehow managed to break the plastic thing that the heatsink attatches to. My heatsink is stock and connects using a metal....... thing that clips on each side of the plastic thing. I dont think I managed to fry anything, but now I need a new plastic thing, anyone know where I might be able to get one.

BTW, I visited my manufactures site, and they have no number or anything for me, just a form that I have to fill out to get any kind of support, and judging from the poor spelling and grammer, are not based in the US.

Do you suppose you could tell us what kind of processor and mainboard you're using? That would make it a bit easier to understand which "plastic thing" you are referring to.

Ya, I've got a AMD 3700 San Diego processer and a chaintech VNF4/VNF4 Ultra motherboard. I'll try and get some pics up later. I can't think of a better name for it than "plastic thingy." Basicly, it was holds the heatsink on top of the CPU and keep it from disconnecting from the motherboard. It has two screws on it, a hole in the middle (where the CPU goes with the heatsink on top), and the words (LOTES) on it.

Often they can be found on Ebay, try looking there. Also, many aftermarket heatsinks will come with one so if you just cannot find one buy a heatsink tha comes with one (like the XP-90).
