Default Some problems with new build

I just built a computer for my bro-law with an ASUS P5n32-E mobo. When I turn it on I'm not getting anything on the monitor. Everything is hooked up correctly. It seems as if the system doesn't post because the speaker doesn't sound on start up. The case connector are pretty simple..just a power and reset connection as well as the speaker. I don't understand and cant' figure out for the life of me what is wrong and why there is not output. Also I tried another monitor just to verify it wasn't the monitor.

Do you know if your MB is getting power? Do your fans come on, does anything happen? If your MB is getting power, but it won't POST, possible a MB issue.

    ok start stripping out componets
make sure they are seated problperly
I had a pc yesterday which the power button failed - took me a while to find that

when you plug power in do you get any activity at all, ie LED's on motherboard etc.
