    Default SLI compatibilty question

i know this may be a simple question, but i am not well-versed in motherboard technology.

i was planning on building a computer for myself with the Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 motherboard. i was wondering if said mother board would be able to use SLI

the product description on their site indicates that is is ATI CrossFireX compatible but does not mention SLI compatibility
i would assume that the motherboard is not SLI compatible but i don't think that is an assumption i can make

    thank you for the help

Mostly you will need to look at motherboards using nVidia chipsets to get SLI compatability. Intel chipsets support only AMD multi-GPU setups.

The board GA-X48-DQ6 is infact crossfire only, so you were right.
